The Inspiration Circle – Jun ’17

The months ahead are going to be filled with unpredictability. With equal parts dread and hope, I’m stepping into a new phase of life in July. Before I do that, however, I want to put myself in a positive frame of mind. That is why I decided to bring this feature back at this juncture.

Writing and Reading Wrap-Up – March 2017

I haven’t been keeping to my schedule this month due to a few reasons and tons of excuses. It hasn’t been an easy month for me. Being a non-summer (anti-summer?) person and allergic to pollen, I’ve been tired and sick for most of it. Hopefully, April will be better (I’m not hopeful about the temperatures coming down before June, but I’ll survive), at least in terms of blogging. Apart from getting baked under the tropical sun, this is what I’ve been up to in March.

Writing & Reading Wrap-Up – Jan 2017

Remember my writing plan from two weeks ago? (It’s okay if the answer is no, you can check it out here.) I did promise a monthly writing wrap-up along with it, but I decided to add reading to it as well. Since I have a separate book blog, I will mention my reading only briefly here and leave links to my posts on that blog if you want to read further. With that introduction out of the way, let’s check on my progress (or lack of it).

Fictional Fridays #14

As is customary, here is another chapter of Cold Scent. Also, if I have been less than active in commenting and liking the posts of my lovely fellow WordPress bloggers, I’m sorry and I promise that my regular visitations will resume. If you’ve missed out on the previous chapters, head to the Fictional Fridays tab in the main menu and you can read them all. Happy weekend, readers!

Fictional Fridays #13

I’ll keep the preamble short this time. It’s Friday again, which means another chapter of Cold Scent. Happy reading!

Fictional Fridays #11

A bit of good news on the personal front – another semester and year gone by in my engineering life, which means vacation time, which means a lot of free time in which to write. As of now, I’m taking a long break and perfecting the art of doing nothing. The other good news is that I will resume my regular posting schedule from June and I’m really excited about that because I have a storehouse of wonderful post ideas. This post brings the second chapter of the (unfinished) murder mystery series that I started in Fictional Fridays #10. Watch out for the next one on May 30th!

Fictional Fridays #10

My college life is taking up all of my time these days and with my exams approaching, I’ve had no time to churn out new stories. For what’s left of April and for three weeks of May, I won’t be posting on Mondays. Vocab Wednesdays will make a comeback in May and I will be posting fiction on Fridays. This is an unfinished novel I’d entered as my Camp NaNo project in July 2013. It’s filled with terrible clichĂ©s, but I was pretty inexperienced back then and I didn’t have a lot of original ideas. Although I’m not very proud of it, I’ve learnt a lot from it and it’s actually not all that bad for an 18-year-old. Plus, I love the covers! Then again, my pseudonym needs a bit of work.

Fictional Fridays #7

The fourth calendar month brings with it Camp NaNoWriMo (for those unfamiliar with it, check it out here). I’m taking part in it and have set myself a small goal of 10,000 words. I’m finally going to be working on my novel and hope to reach my word count goal against all odds (college assignments, dance practice and general laziness, to name a few). Due to this, writing fiction outside of it is going to be pretty hard as I don’t think I’ll have the time. That said, I do love fiction, so here’s something I wrote a long time ago and submitted it to a magazine, but it was never published and the editor never got back to me. I know it could be better, but I’ll be posting it anyway.
