The Case of the Absent Blogger

It was Mystery and Thriller week over on Goodreads last week, hence the title. (Neat, don’t you think?) As many of you might have noticed, I took a month-long vacation from blogging without any prior notice. I feel like I owe my regular readers an explanation, so that’s what I’ll be talking about in this post. Also, watch out for some fun Harry Potter GIFs. 😀

Why the Absence?

Two main reasons for this one: extended illness and a writing slump (I refuse to call it writer’s block).

3 Lessons Baking Taught Me

This post was actually supposed to go up last Monday, but I was so busy with the said baking that I did not have time to write the post then. Of course I felt guilty about not posting last week because I broke away from my blogging schedule in the first month of the new year, so here’s my late apology and the post.

I was baking last week for a bake sale that happened in college. It was organised by a college club to raise funds for an event that honours the army martyr families in the state (Link to their Facebook page). This is my second (and final) time baking for this event. It’s a double joy because it’s for a good cause and an excuse to indulge in something fun. I wouldn’t claim to be any sort of expert for my experiments come out well as much as they fail, but my family and friends are kind enough to eat them anyway, which is encouraging. Let’s see what my experiences have taught me.

2016 Wrap-Up

I know it’s a terribly clichéd idea for a blog post, but looking back at the year often provides valuable lessons for the future. We probably all had that one big, embarrassing failure we don’t want to talk about and pray will never happen to us again. We all hopefully experienced a few deviously designed plans by the devil that confounded us but which we overcame anyway, becoming wiser in the process. We all definitely had those beautiful moments where the entire universe was perfectly aligned just for us, which brings a smile on our faces even as we think about it now. By now you should be convinced this is a great post idea. If you are, then bear with me as I share how 2016 went for me (and you can tell me all about yours after that).
